(Brief)
The Problem

People save useful information across multiple formats and platforms, but saved content can become difficult to revisit. Layrrrd addresses this gap by bringing personal knowledge into a searchable, conversational experience.
The design challenge is to make that promise understandable and the experience straightforward to navigate.
Brand Strategy

Layrrrd was built around a simple opportunity: make personal knowledge easier to capture, organise, and retrieve. The challenge was to communicate the value of an AI-powered product without making the experience feel complicated or intimidating.
Our strategic direction focused on clarity, accessibility, and personality. Rather than presenting Layrrrd as just another place to store links, the brand needed to communicate the idea of a personal knowledge companion something that helps people return to useful information when they need it.
Rudolf, the product's AI companion, adds a recognisable personality to this experience. Together, the product positioning and visual identity create a foundation for a brand that feels approachable while communicating a useful, technology-driven service.

The product interface is where the brand becomes functional. Every interaction should help users understand their library and move naturally between saved content and discovery.
The Process

The design process connects the product's core purpose to the brand and interface.
Start with the user need, define the product's communication and interaction priorities, develop the visual identity, and apply it consistently across the interface.
The work should demonstrate the iterations, explorations, wireframes, design decisions, and refinements that led to the delivered product.
Creative Development

The creative development focused on bringing Layrrrd's brand identity and digital product experience together. The challenge was to create a visual language that could express the product's personality while keeping the interface clear and functional.
Rudolf became an important part of the brand's visual expression, giving the product a recognisable character. The wider identity needed to work alongside this personality across the website, product interface, and supporting touchpoints.
The design direction considered how the identity could extend beyond a logo into a coherent product experience. Typography, visual hierarchy, interface elements, and brand applications should work together to make Layrrrd feel consistent wherever users encounter it.
The final presentation should showcase the actual identity explorations, interface decisions, and applications developed during the project.

Rudolf gives Layrrrd a recognisable personality, helping make an AI-powered experience feel approachable and distinctive.

The identity extends beyond a single screen. Consistent visual language and interaction patterns help connect the product into a coherent experience.
The Solution

Layrrrd brings its brand identity and digital product experience together around a clear proposition: save useful content and retrieve it when needed.
The final experience connects the identity, Rudolf's personality, the interface, and the product's core interactions into a coherent system.
The Outcome

Layrrrd brings its brand identity and digital product experience together around one central purpose: helping people save useful content and find it again when they need it.
The project combines brand development with UX/UI design to establish a consistent direction across the product's visual identity and interface. Rudolf adds a recognisable personality, while the product experience centres on making personal knowledge more accessible.
The result is a foundation for a digital product in which branding and usability support the same idea. Layrrrd demonstrates Laketown's approach to designing beyond the surface connecting brand expression with the experience people have when using a product.
