(Brief)
The Problem

Trapy needed a brand identity that could communicate a modern carpooling experience while appealing to a younger audience.
The design challenge was to create recognition and personality without making the identity unnecessarily complicated.
Brand Strategy

Trapy was conceived as a carpooling product for a younger, digitally connected audience. The brand needed to feel approachable and contemporary while building a recognisable identity within the mobility space.
Our direction focused on creating a distinctive visual personality rather than relying on the conventions of transport and mobility brands. The identity needed to work across digital touchpoints while remaining flexible enough to grow with the product.
The central strategic idea was to balance functionality with personality: a brand that communicates a practical service without feeling generic.

The identity brings the brand name and visual language together into a system designed to remain recognisable across digital applications.
The Process

The identity development explored the relationship between the brand name, mascot, and supporting visual elements.
The mascot was refined through iterations focused on simplicity, recognisability, and alignment with the brand.
The final case study should document the actual sketches, iterations, design decisions, and identity applications created during the project.
Creative Development

The creative development centred on the relationship between the Trapy wordmark and its mascot. Both elements needed to feel like parts of the same identity rather than separate visual assets.
The mascot went through explorations focused on simplifying its form, refining the facial details, and improving the placement of the logo within the character. The goal was to create a mark that remained recognisable without unnecessary complexity.
The wider identity was developed around this direction, establishing a foundation for the brand's digital presence and future applications.

The mascot exploration focused on simplifying the character and making the central visual mark more distinctive and consistent.

The final direction connects the mascot with the broader identity, giving Trapy a visual asset that can extend across future brand touchpoints.
The Solution

Trapy's identity brings together the brand name, a distinctive mascot, and a consistent visual direction for a Gen Z-focused carpooling product.
The resulting system provides a foundation for the brand's digital presence and future applications.
The Outcome

Trapy's brand identity brings together a distinctive wordmark, a simplified mascot, and a visual direction designed for a Gen Z-focused carpooling product.
The resulting identity gives the product a recognisable personality and a foundation for consistent communication across digital touchpoints.
The project demonstrates how character design and visual identity can work together to make a digital product feel more distinctive.
