KATARA HILLS is approached as a place with its own atmosphere and sense of arrival. Laketown’s spatial direction brings the name and the experience into a cohesive visual language.

(The journey)

Problem

A destination is experienced as a sequence: finding the place, arriving, moving through it and remembering it afterward. KATARA HILLS needs a spatial identity that helps these moments feel connected and gives visitors clear cues along the way.

Spatial cues help visitors understand where to arrive and how to move through the destination.

Process

We considered the visitor experience as a whole, bringing spatial identity and communication into one direction. Clear information, considered typography and adaptable graphic elements can work across environmental and supporting touchpoints.

Wayfinding and environmental graphics bring the identity into the visitor journey.

Supporting communications carry a consistent sense of place beyond the site.

Solution

KATARA HILLS receives a framework for expressing place and guiding visitors with a more consistent visual language across the experience.

Work in Progress

The work can be shown through the layers of a visitor journey: early spatial cues, wayfinding studies, environmental applications and supporting communications. Add site plans, signage mockups and in-place photography when ready.

Ideas

Future ideas can build a stronger sense of arrival and orientation through a connected family of maps, location markers and environmental graphics that feel specific to the character of the place.

Testimonial

“The spatial direction helps the visitor experience feel connected, from the first arrival cue through the wider journey.”
